VERSION: This applies to NFS Maestro version 9.0
PROBLEM:
When installing Exceed 9.0 the following error message appears:
"Hummingbird Exceed 9.0.0.0 can not coexist with Hummingbird NFS Maestro Client".
The system previously had NFS Maestro Client 7.1 and the product was upgraded to NFS Maestro Client 8.0. The system eventually had NFS Maestro Client 8.0 uninstalled by using the ADD/Remove Programs applet and the product appeared to be completely removed.
After a clean reboot, the error message "Hummingbird Exceed 9.0.0.0 can not coexist with Hummingbird NFS Maestro Client" would appear when attempting to install Exceed V9.0.
A search was performed on the registry and the hard disk and nothing related to Hummingbird was found.
Solution:
The problem is registry entries from NFS Maestro Client V7.1, left around after an upgrade to NFS Maestro Client V8.0, and removing V8.0 did not clean the V7.1 entries.
The solutions is to install the previous Hummingbird product version, (i.e) NFS Maestro Client 7.1 and then use the Add/Remove Programs applet in Control Panel to uninstall it.
This will allow you to install Exceed V9.0 without errors.
If you need to have Exceed and NFS Maestro installed on the same configuration, please install Exceed V9.0 and NFS Maestro Solo V9.0.
