How to install an Update Pack for Hummingbird Connectivity V9.0 on Windows Terminal Server?

VERSION: This applies to Exceed version 9.0+

DISCUSSION:

To patch a Terminal Server installation for Hummingbird Connectivity 9.0 follow the steps below:

  1. Download Hummingbird Connectivity V9.0 Update Pack 11 or higher from WebSupport or contact Hummingbird Technical Support.
  2. Extract the update and run the self-extracting executable. The Hummingbird Patch Wizard will guide you through the installation.

    NOTE: Please choose the Administrative install when prompted to Select the Patch Installation Method

    Alternatively, you can install the patch from command line, for example:

    "path\HummingbirdConnectivityMegaPatchV9.0_UpdatePack11.exe" /a ''AdminPath\Hummingbird Exceed.msi''

    NOTE: In order to install the patch, you must have an ORIGINAL V9.0.0.0 source Administrative image. If you use an MSI source other than 9.0.0.0, the patch installation will fail

  3. Once the installation of the patch completes, navigate to C:\<WINDIR>\system32\Hummingbird\Connectivity and run Usrmanager.exe.
  4. Select the Exceed product installed (Properties), increase the 'Product Level'.
  5. Select Apply, OK and Close.
This will force the installation of the updated product for every user that logs into the Terminal Server.

An Administrative installation can only be patched once, therefore every time you need to update the administrative image you will need an original V9.0.0.0 administrative install.
