"Error 1101", when upgrading from Exceed V7.0 to V9.0.

VERSION: This applies to Exceed version 7.0

PROBLEM:

During the upgrade process from Exceed V7.0 to Exceed V9.0, while setup is copying files, the user encounters the following error message:

    "Error 1101"

The setup stops immediately without completing the upgrade.

SOLUTION:

Here are the steps necessary to remove the above error message and complete the upgrade installation of Exceed.

  1. Once the install halts with "Error 1101", close all installation dialogs.
  2. Copy the "Hummingbird Exceed.msi" file from the version 7.0 CD on to your desktop.
  3. Start the installation of Exceed V9.0 again.
  4. When prompted for the "Hummingbird Exceed.msi" file, navigate to the version 7.0 "Hummingbird Exceed.msi" file on the desktop instead on the CD.
  5. Continue selecting the options you wish to have installed with Exceed V9.0 until finished.
