Removing the warning message: "Your Display settings have changed...perform a server reset"

LAST MODIFIED DATE: December 02, 2004

VERSION: This applies to Exceed versions 7.0, 7.0+, 8.0, 9.0

PROBLEM:

How to remove the following warning message:

"Your Display settings have changed. In order to correctly display your clients you should perform a Server Reset. Failure to do so may result in drawing problems. For more details look in the Exceed Log file."

SOLUTION:

You can add a flag into the registry in order to remove this warning message.
Follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Windows Start button
  2. Select Run
  3. Type: regedit
  4. Navigate to the following Registry hive:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Hummingbird\Connectivity\9.00\Exceed\Xserver

If the Xserver folder does not exist, please create it.

  5. Create the following Dword values under the Xserver folder:

    ShowMultipleMonitorWarnings
    DisplayChangeMessageBox

Both entries have a value of 0.
