Right mouse click does not display menu in an x-application.

LAST MODIFIED DATE: February 03, 2004

VERSION: This applies to Exceed versions 9.0, 9.0+

PROBLEM:

Exceed is used to launch the Common Desktop Environment (CDE) and then the x-applications are launched. Right-clicking works in some x-applications (for example Ansis) but not in another x-application (for example Unigraphics).

Right clicking the mouse button is supposed to display a menu.

SOLUTION:

To allow the right mouse button to display a menu you are required to add a flag in the registry. Here are the steps:

  1. Launch regedit and go to the following hive:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hummingbird\Connectivity\9.00\Exceed
  2. Create a key called Xserver
  3. Create a dword called ExtraButtonSupport
  4. Set the ExtraButtonSupport flag to 0
Now clicking the right mouse button will bring up a menu.
