LAST MODIFIED DATE: December 04, 2003
VERSION: This applies to Exceed version 8.0+
PROBLEM:
Customer would like to add customized profiles such as Xstart (.xs) files to each Exceed user installation on Terminal Server.
SOLUTION:
Here are the steps required to add Xstart profiles to a user installation on Windows Terminal Server.
- In the copy image "\Admin" directory, create a sub-folder. For example, the sub-folder will be called "Custom".
- Inside "\Admin\Custom", create another folder called "Exceed".
- Copy and paste the customized xstart profiles, with a ".xs" extension, to the "\Admin\Custom\Exceed" folder.
- Go to the directory "\Windows Home\System32\Hummingbird\Connectivity", and double-click on "usrmanager.exe". This will open User Manager.
- Select the "Properties" button, and go to the "Overrides" tab.
- Select the "Add" button. From the drop-down menu, select "CustomUserDirectoryList" for the override name.
- For the Value, type "Custom".
- Save the changes and then log on as a regular user.
