Exceed does not close with 3rd party VPN Client.

VERSION: This applies to Exceed version 7.0+

PROBLEM:

When the user tries to end their X session, the Exceed X Server will not close. This occurs when a 3rd party VPN client is running, for example, Aventail.

SOLUTION:

This is a known issue. If Exceed is running along with a 3rd party VPN client, for example, Aventail Client software. As long as the Aventail software has been run or loaded, Exceed will not be able to shut down.

You need to add the following key into the registry:

CloseAventail. This key is a DWORD. Set the value to 1 in order to enable or 0 to disable.

They key is placed in the following registry hive:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Hummingbird\Connectivity\Version Number\Exceed\Transport.

You will need to manually create the Transport key if it does not exist and then add the DWORD.

NOTE:
If you are using Exceed V7.1.1.1, you will require a patch for the above flag to work. The patch is wlxport.dll version 7.1.1.1. The patch can be obtained from WebSupport or from the following link wlxport_7111.zip or by contacting Technical Support.
