"Hummingbird install wizard has been interrupted..." message when trying to install Exceed

LAST MODIFIED DATE: March 19, 2003

VERSION: This applies to Exceed version 8.0

PROBLEM:

When trying to install Exceed, from the Admin copy directory, on the Terminal Server as the Administrator, the install stops when "Copying New Files" begins. The following error is displayed:

"Hummingbird install wizard has been interrupted. Your system has not been modified. Please run install again later."

RESOLUTION:

Create a log file of the install by running the following at a command prompt:

C:\Admin\setup.exe /v"/L*v c:\install_log.txt"

Once the log file "install_log.txt" is created, search for the following line:

Note: 1: 2318 2: C:\Admin\Hummingbird Exceed.msi

This usually indicates a permission problem on the Terminal Server. If all the proper permissions appear to be set, make sure that the Admin copy directory and the Hummingbird Exceed.msi file permissions include the "System" account with full control set.
