How can you route the default system beep to the PC sound card?

LAST MODIFIED DATE: January 04, 2008

VERSION: This applies to Exceed onDemand versions 5.1, 6.0

PROBLEM:

Is there a way to route the default system beep to use the PC sound card?

SOLUTION:

In order to route the default system beep to the PC sound card you need to add the following in the Registry Editor:

For Exceed onDemand 5.1:
HKCU\Software\Hummingbird\Connectivity\5.10\Exceed onDemand\Client\
Add DWORD: UseAudioDevice
Value: 1

Note: this feature was added to the Exceed onDemand 5.1.6.0 update.

For Exceed onDemand 6:
HKCU\Software\Hummingbird\Connectivity\6.00\Exceed onDemand\Client\
Add DWORD: UseAudioDevice
Value: 1

Note:
Exceed onDemand 5.1.6.0 or higher can be obtained by logging into WebSupport or when you contact Hummingbird Customer Support
