Attempts to start the Proxy Manager after a server crash generates error messages.

LAST MODIFIED DATE: July 25, 2007

VERSION: This applies to Exceed onDemand version 5.1

PROBLEM:

After a server crash, customer is unable to connect to a standalone Exceed onDemand server.

The Proxy Manager is not running and attempts to start it generate the following messages:

eod.cfg file not found
eod server not installed or the install is corrupt
couldn't init eod proxy manager

The Cluster Manager log shows the following:

Unsuccessful Proxy Manager login from localhost. The cluster password is invalid.

SOLUTION:

In order to resolve this issue, you need to do the following:

  1. Run eodstop which stops both the Cluster and Proxy Managers.

  2. Go to the eod51/conf/admin directory. (Assuming that Exceed onDemand is installed in eod51)

  3. Edit the cluster.cfg and remove the password so that the line reads:
    EoDCMPassword=

  4. Save the changes.

  5. Edit the eod.cfg and remove the password so that the line reads:
    EoDDataStorePassword=

  6. Save the changes and restart Exceed onDemand normally.
