Enabling "Use Exceed onDemand Credentials" when running Xstart with Secure Shell start method, prompts you to login.

LAST MODIFIED DATE: July 24, 2007

VERSION: This applies to Exceed onDemand version 5.1

PROBLEM:

When running an Xstart profile with Secure Shell as the start method in Exceed onDemand 5.1 and enabling the "Use Exceed onDemand Credentials" option, you get prompted to enter the login credentials.

SOLUTION:

Exceed onDemand server credentials and the target host credentials are identical, why are you getting prompted to enter the login credentials?

The reason that you are prompted to enter the login credentials is that the Secure Shell client that is configured through Exceed onDemand Server Manager has been changed to a third party version that was not supplied with Exceed onDemand.

The Exceed onDemand supplied Secure Shell client is custom made to interact with Exceed onDemand. You must use the Exceed onDemand supplied Secure Shell client.

If a higher revision level of the Secure Shell client is required, you may use Exceed onDemand 6 (OpenSSH 4.4p1 revision).
