VERSION: This applies to Exceed versions 10.0, 2006
PROBLEM:
How to get the Xweb plugin to work in other browsers like Firefox or non-default Web Browsers on a user's machine?
SOLUTION:
The Xweb plugin is not interchangeable between version numbers (You cannot use the Exceed 2006 Xweb plugin with Exceed 10 or vice versa).
When Exceed is installed with the Xweb plugin, the plugin is placed in the default web browser's \PLUGINS folder.
For Example:
The plugin would be placed in "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS" for Internet Explorer.
The Xweb plugin is called nphclx.dll and can be copied manually and placed in you specific web browser's plugin directory.
For Example:
To allow Mozilla Firefox the ability to use the Hummingbird Exceed Xweb plugin, you can copy the "nphclx.dll" plugin from the Internet Explorer \PLUGINS directory to the Firefox plugins directory ( C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins ).
Once the browser is restarted, the Xweb plugin is functional.
