Using two or more physical monitors, icon disappears while dragging across screens.

LAST MODIFIED DATE: April 19, 2006

VERSION: This applies to Exceed version 10.0+

PROBLEM:

You have two or more physical monitors configured. Using Screen 0 with the "Use All Monitor(s)" setting to using individual screens (1, 2, etc...).

When using a suite of Motif applications and dragging an icon across the configured screens, it will occasionally vanish and re-appear. It typically occurs right after going over a screen border or going from 1 motif display to another.

SOLUTION:

This issue can be resolved by adding the following flag under the Registry Editor:

UnrealizeCursors

In order to add this flag, edit the registry add UnrealizedCursors (REG_DWORD) 1 to \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hummingbird\Connectivity\<version number>\Exceed\Xserver\

In order for this flag to take effect, you need to apply the latest version.

Minimum patch requirements:
If you have version 10, you will need to apply exceed.exe v10.0.0.19 patch or higher.
If you have version 2006, you will need to apply exceed.exe v11.0.0.3 patch or higher.

Note: Patches can be obtained from Hummingbird Technical Support or by logging in to WebSupport and clicking on the "Patches" link from the "Resources" menu.
