Check out the following customer comments and read about how HostExplorer has provided the best Terminal Emulation Connectivity Solution...

Hummingbird Wins PCWeek Asia's Readers' Choice '99 Systems Award for Host Access
For the second year running, Hummingbird has received the Readers' Choice Award for Host Access from PCWeek Asia. Last year's Platinum winner Hummingbird again topped the Host Access category this year with the highest marks for Price Performance

"We currently use Hummingbird HostExplorer as a primary connectivity solution. We are very pleased with its broad range of functionality and ease of use as compared to all competing products we have tried. Thanks for such a reliable solution!"
---Duane Needham, Cable & Wireless

"I downloaded HostExplorer because I was in a "pinch" for a good emulator that I could use to test the TCP/IP connection to a new Mod 170 we have for a research machine and CA/400 wasn't working. As usual, HostExplorer came through for me."
--January 1998, D. Ellis Green, Senior Technical Editor at Midrange Computing

"The following are my impressions of Host Explorer, as a tool in and of itself, and in comparison to the others I tried from web sites...

  • VERSATILITY - Host Explorer is the most versatile of the MVS emulators I have tried, it can be configured to match any keyboard configuration and screen setup desired, allowing the user a smooth transition to the product.
  • RELIABILITY - Host Explorer is the most reliable of the 3270 emulators I have tried, providing a very smooth and uninterrupted work environment with no surprises or delays.
  • EASE OF USE - the setup menus and screens are intuitive and well designed to enable the new user to become an old hand in the shortest time.
  • PERFORMANCE - Host Explorer is the most efficient of the emulators I have tried, in terms of response time and resilience."

--Dominic Green, MC

"We explained to Hummingbird from the very beginning that HostExplorer could be the right solution for us, but we needed it to be tailored on our needs. The answer was very positive and the project was implemented through a close cooperation among Hummingbird, the distributor and us. The first feelings are positive, even from a strictly technical perspective; as soon as we have to start thinking of new installations, it will be natural to think of HostExplorer again."
--Modestino Palumbo, Director of the Data Center, CSI-Piemonte

"I have been using this product [HostExplorer] to connect to Midrange Computing's AS/400 for about six months and have found it to be fast, reliable, and extremely flexible... HostExplorer allows you to form an emulation strategy and set up your TN5250 session profiles and their properties before ever connecting to the AS/400, which can save time and aggravation... There are several ways to start a TN5250 session, depending on your TCP/IP setup... As you'll see, you can also sign on directly from Windows Explorer. All sign-on methods quickly bring up an AS/400 session if you have entered a valid TCP/IP address... But, you don't have to open the pop-up menu to connect ... and you'll get a sign-on screen before you can blink an eye."
--July 1998, D. Ellis Green, Senior Technical Editor at Midrange Computing

"I have found HostExplorer to be an excellent application. It is definitely the best telnet app I've ever used."
--John A. Johnson, Sr. Systems Engineer, Motorola Computer Group

"HostExplorer's small memory footprint not only enables it to load faster, but it saves RAM for the desktop productivity applications that are in constant use, so the overall response of the desktop is faster."
--Dick Kulikowski, Duke Power Company

"HostExplorer is working great! Once I figured out that you can't use TweakUI (a Microsoft product) to hide the "Hummingbird Neighborhood" icon and have shortcuts to a 3270 profile work. Nice product!"
