How did you obtain HCLNFSD for the Linux Server you are
currently running? Did you compile it from the source code or obtain a
pre-compiled version from our external FTP Server? If you complied the
HCLNFSD yourself, what make option did you use? I assume that you have
shadow passwords and/or MD5 enabled?
Are you running NIS services on this machine? If so, you can even use
the NIS Services to allow authentication from the NFS Maestro Client.
In order to do this, you must set NIS as your primary Hummingbird
Directory Services in the "Network & Dialup Connections" Control Panel
