We are having a issue with NFS server version 7.1 running on a Windows
2000 SP2 server, we have a NTFS drive with folder setup as Windows
share. This share propagates folder and file security automatically as
new items are created.
When we setup the mount point for a Unix (Solaris 8) system to access
this Windows share, we have mapped one user and one group to allow
access. The problem we see happening is once the mount is setup and
started if someone from the Windows world adds data the this share we
can see the Windows security is correct by when we list from Unix is
displays with GID=65533 (nobody) UID=65533 (nobody).
If I go back to the permission's button on the export screen and
re-check the recursive and apply this fixes the problem but nothing on
the Windows security was changed. How can we correct this behavior so
Unix and Windows see the same security as new items are created?
Thank you,
Mac Choi
